The ESG Advisor Certificate India Edition is a globally recognised, fast-track certification programme developed by Financial Regulation Courses (FRC) for finance professionals and graduates across India. As one of the world's fastest-growing major economies, India is witnessing rapid expansion in sustainable finance, responsible investment, and ESG-driven corporate strategy, creating significant demand for qualified ESG Advisors across financial and corporate sectors. FRC equips professionals with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical expertise to lead sustainable investment strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive responsible financial decision-making. Upon passing the FRC proctored examination, candidates receive a Certificate of Achievement with lifelong validity, recognised by employers across India and internationally.
The ESG Advisor Certificate — India Edition, delivered by Financial Regulation Courses, is designed to provide a structured foundation in Environmental, Social and Governance principles and their application across Indian and international financial markets.
The programme is suitable for graduates, finance professionals, investment professionals, compliance professionals and career changers seeking to develop practical knowledge of sustainable finance, ESG investing and responsible investment practices.
The programme covers ESG principles, sustainable investment strategies, ESG integration, portfolio construction, ESG reporting and disclosure, regulatory and ethical considerations, and the role of ESG factors in investment decision-making. Students develop a broader understanding of how ESG considerations influence investment analysis, portfolio management, corporate reporting and financial markets.
The India Edition provides a strong foundation for candidates seeking to develop careers within India's expanding financial-services and sustainable-finance sectors, while also supporting those looking to build internationally transferable ESG knowledge.
For candidates seeking global career opportunities, the programme provides an India-focused starting point for expanding into international financial markets, with multi-jurisdiction extensions available across 13 financial jurisdictions.
The programme is delivered as a self-study course in flipbook and PDF formats, with audio transcription and structured chapter-by-chapter assessments. Students can develop their knowledge progressively while testing their understanding throughout their studies.
Recommended study time is 80–100 hours across 9 modules and 10 assessed components.
The ESG Advisor Certificate — India Edition provides a strong foundation in ESG investing within the Indian financial-services environment, including the regulatory and market framework relevant to professionals operating under SEBI.
FRC Membership allows you to build beyond that domestic foundation.
As a member, you can continue developing your financial-services knowledge and access additional jurisdictional pathways designed to broaden your understanding of international financial markets. This provides an opportunity to progress from an India-focused SEBI regulatory foundation towards a broader understanding of the regulatory, market and professional environments encountered across global financial centres.
This international perspective is particularly valuable for candidates who want to pursue careers beyond the Indian market and develop knowledge relevant to global investment and financial-services opportunities.
The programme is also highly relevant for CFA candidates and investment professionals who want to strengthen their ESG knowledge alongside their broader investment education.
For candidates pursuing the CFA pathway, the ESG Advisor Certificate can provide an additional structured foundation in ESG principles, sustainable finance, ESG analysis, portfolio considerations, reporting and regulatory developments.
This combination can be particularly relevant for candidates targeting Investment Analyst, ESG Analyst, Sustainable Investment, Portfolio Management and related investment roles where employers increasingly expect candidates to understand both investment fundamentals and the application of ESG factors to investment decision-making.
Your FRC Digital Profile gives employers and hiring managers a real-time view of the courses you are actively studying and the progress you have earned through them.
Each chapter must be successfully assessed before the next chapter is unlocked, meaning the progress displayed on your profile represents completed and assessed learning — not simply a course you have accessed.
Your profile can be linked directly from your resume through your FRC QR code, allowing hiring managers to move beyond a static list of courses and see evidence of your ongoing professional development.
The financial-services recruitment process is competitive. Employers are assessing candidates against academic backgrounds, experience, technical knowledge and evidence of commitment to the industry.
Your FRC Digital Profile is built to cut through that noise.
Instead of relying solely on claims made on a resume, your profile gives employers additional evidence of what you are actively studying, what you have completed and how far you have progressed through assessed learning.
That gives hiring managers more information when comparing candidates and can help reduce the uncertainty and friction involved in assessing your application.
The result is a stronger professional profile, greater employer confidence and a better opportunity to progress from application to interview.
The objective is not simply to understand ESG within one jurisdiction.
The India Edition gives you an India-focused starting point, while FRC Membership and multi-jurisdiction extensions provide a pathway to broaden your knowledge across international financial markets.
With extensions available across 13 financial jurisdictions, you can continue developing your professional knowledge as your career objectives evolve — building from an Indian SEBI foundation towards opportunities across Asia, the United States and European financial markets.
For CFA candidates and aspiring investment professionals, this creates a broader professional development pathway: develop your core investment knowledge, strengthen your ESG expertise and build an understanding of the regulatory and market environments relevant to the international roles you want to pursue.
